Baptiste Desjardin

Baptiste Desjardin was born in Paris in 1990. He participated in many artist residencies and exhibitions internationally including in Congo, Palestine, China and South Korea for example.
His artistic practice revolves around paper cut-outs, monumental sculptures, and photography. Baptiste likes to travel and observe the world in which he lives. He also admires Asian landscapes. His work is incredibly poetic and meticulous. The white paper is cut and shaped into thousand of details. It no longer looks like a white paper but like an enchanted forest or an industrial city.

The artist questions us about the perception of our society which is a capitalist and materialistic world. What is the relationship between man and nature? Mankind cannot exist alone, and emptiness cannot exist without material. The forest looks like an industrial city, the trees look like electric wires, and our perception is constantly deceived.
